His mood turned worse when he got her answer. “Why? Because you can get your Ah Yu back?”

She stared at his sullen face for a moment, then laughed. After being stared at by him, she coughed lightly and said, “No. I’m very happy because you have found what you lost. Besides, you are Ah Yu in the first place. You are too cute to be jealous of yourself.”

In a complicated mood, he sighed and said, “Let’s go.”

“Go where?”

He glanced at her and said calmly, “Our home.”

Half an hour later, he took her to the mountainous area on the north side of the Night Base. Walking on the path up the mountain, she looked at the surrounding bamboo and smelled the familiar fragrance she liked. A few minutes later, she saw a small bamboo house in the middle of the bamboo forest.

Long Shengyu looked at her and asked, “Do you like it?”

Looking at the familiar design in front of her, Zhu Lin asked in a daze: “You made this?”

“Mhm. You guessed right. I got all my memories back last night.”

Listening to his words, she raised her head and met his loving eyes. Happy for him, she said with a smile: “It seems that I have to work harder in the future.”

He opened his arms and hugged her tightly. After a long silence, he lowered his head and whispered in her ear. “As long as you’re by my side, I don’t care about the rest.”

Feeling the soreness in her heart, she sighed. Hearing her sigh, he looked at her sad face and asked anxiously: “Lin’er, what’s the matter? You don’t like this house? Tell me, and I’ll make another one that you like.”

Shaking her head, she put her arms around his waist, leaned on his chest, and closed her eyes to listen to his rapid heartbeat. Getting no answer from her, he panicked and didn’t know what to do.

“I love you.” She whispered softly.

He was stunned when he heard her sudden confession. Lifting her eyes, she saw his masculine jawline and blushing face. Seeing his cute reaction, she chuckled, and suddenly wanted to tease him.

“Ah Yu didn’t answer me. Do you not love me anymore?”

He shook his head quickly. “No!”

Let him go, she said dejectedly: “I see. I’ll go then.”

Seeing her turn around, he quickly held her hand and explained hastily. “That’s not what I mean. I’m not saying I don’t love you, but… but I mean you’re wrong. No, I.. I mean you’re never wrong, but I… I mean..”

She watched him try to explain desperately, but  the more he said it, the worse it became. After talking nonsense for a few minutes, Long Shengyu stopped talking and groaned in despair. Looking at his bewildered face, she laughed until tears flowed from the corners of her eyes.

“Ha ha ha!”

He stared at her and asked, “Teasing me?”

She nodded and answered him between her laughs. “Um. You’re cute.”

He rubbed his face with relief, sighed and said, “You scared me to death.”

After her laughter stopped, she smiled and looked at him. “So, what’s your answer?”

He pulled her closer, bowed his head until there was almost no distance between their faces, and whispered: “I love you more than you love me.”

“Um.. That’s a good answer.”

With a smile on his lips, he lowered his head and kissed her deeply. The faint bamboo fragrance brought by the breeze brought them back to the memories of the past. In the middle of the bamboo forest, the figures of the two merged into one.

A few minutes later, they parted breathlessly. Long Shengyu stroked her lips lightly, and said hoarsely: “Sweet.”

Zhu Lin gently touched her swollen lips. “I eat mango pudding for breakfast.”

Lowering his head again, he gently licked her lips. “Mhm. I like mango pudding.”

Listening to his words, she couldn’t help blushing. Looking away, she looked at the bamboo house and said, “I want to see the house.”

“I’ll take you to have a look.”

“Um.”

With their hands intertwined, the two walked towards the bamboo house together. When they looked at each other, there were rare happy smiles on their faces. Today, the world looks extraordinarily beautiful.
