Chapter 1

In a pavilion built in the middle of the vast lake, you can see the back of a tall man in a white robe. A long black hair was casually draped over his back, flowing like a waterfall reaching the ground. In front of him is a mirror made of water balls floating quietly.
Tracing the water mirror with his fingers lightly, his low magnetic voice carried a trace of pity, “What a beautiful and pure soul.”
Looking at the soul floating in the water mirror, the corners of his lips curled up and he said, “Maybe only you who can do it.”
After he finished speaking, his fingertips glowed with white light, which penetrated into the water mirror and surrounded the soul. “Little girl, this is a small gift from this old man. Take it as compensation for letting you do this for me.”
The white soul slowly dissipated until it completely disappeared from there. Not long after the white soul disappeared, several men in black appeared and looked around. He looked at the men who were looking for souls, and a smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. There was a hint of playfulness in his deep black eyes.
With a wave of his sleeves, the water mirror disappeared, and he stood there looking at the horizon. There was nothing there, just a solitary man in the pavilion.
……..
Three month before the apocalypse.
Liu QingHe’s mind felt groggy and heavy. She could hear the rustling of leaves and the chirping of birds in her ears. A breeze blew across her face, making her ticklish.
“Who keeps tickling me with feathers?”
This is an old prank. She brushed away the itching feathers with her hands, trying to fall back asleep.
‘Um? What was it that touched my face just now?
She patted the feathers with her hands again, and her eyes widened suddenly. Two round green eyes shining in the moonlight, beautiful and dangerous. Under the full moon, the white fur gleamed, and the sleeping fox jumped up in fright.
Liu Qinghe lowered his eyes slowly and looked at herself. The first thing she saw was a protruding mouth covered with white fur. Looking down again, she saw the ground. Slowly raising her trembling hand, she saw a cute furry paw appear in front of her, her mind went blank and she passed out.
The next morning.
Tap.. tap… tap..
“Classmate, wake up. Classmate, can you hear me?”
Liu Qinghe felt someone tap her on the cheek and shake her body. Feeling the force of the tap getting stronger, she frowned and slowly opened her heavy eyelids.
“Um…” She opened her eyes and let out a groan. The moment she opened her eyes, a dazzling light shot into her eyes. Closing her eyes again, she covered the light with her hands, then slowly opened her eyes again.
“Hey…you finally woke up.” Liu Qinghe heard a woman’s hoarse voice coming from her side.
She propped herself up and sat down, looked around, and then looked at the woman beside her. The woman looked similar in age, with fair skin, petite stature, and delicate facial features. She was a beauty.
“Where are we?” she asked. Taken back with her hoarse voice, Liu Qinghe touched her throat and felt a sharp pain in her throat.
“I don’t know. There was an accident on our bus yesterday. I just found you now. I don’t know what happened to the rest of our classmates.” The woman said with a look of fear and sadness on her face.
“We’ll be fine. Don’t worry. People will come to our rescue,” she said, patting her on the back.
The woman nodded and said, “My name is Yang Lihua. What’s your name?”
“My name is Liu Qinghe,” she said while checking her pockets and backpack.
Seeing that she was busy checking her pockets and backpack, Yang Lihua couldn’t help asking, “Classmate Liu, what are you looking for?”
“Just call me Qinghe. I’m looking for something to help us send a signal, or at least something to eat and drink.”
After searching for a while, she finally found what she needed. She took out a signal flare, smiled and showed it to Yang Lihua, saying: “We only have one, I hope someone will notice and come and help.”
Under Yang Lihua’s curious gaze, she propped herself up and limped to the open space beside them. It looks like her leg is hurt. Sighing, she gritted her teeth and lit the flare.
‘I hope it works.’
