The Apocalypse Merchant – 11

Chapter 11

The sound of metal colliding did not come, but the clear and crisp sound of cutting came into Murong Jiao’s ears clearly. Looking at the deep crack in the heavy metal door, her eyes widened. Through the opening, she could see countless boxes and shelves behind the door.

The entire floor is devoted to a supermarket, with sixty percent of the space being used as a warehouse. And the warehouse is so big, that she can imagine how many supplies can be collected from the warehouse alone. Excited, she raised her long sword again and slashed at the heavy metal door a few more times.

It took a few minutes before she split the heavy metal door, and finally opened a square hole big enough for her to pass through. Sheathed the sword, she put it back to the weapon room, and picked up the baseball bat from the ground. Seeing the hole in the metal door, she felt lucky herself for being petite.

Holding the baseball bat tightly in her hand, she cautiously stuck her head into the hole and looked across. She looked around and saw no zombies. She breathed a sigh of relief and quickly went through the hole.

Standing on the other side of the metal door, she was shocked again. After looking at many places that had countless supplies, she was still surprised to see the supplies in this warehouse. The warehouse was at least fifteen meters high, with shelves almost as high as the ceiling.

The shelves are full of boxes, neatly arranged, and no space is wasted. There is only one meter distance between the shelves for people to walk on. She didn’t know how the workers stacked the boxes, but her doubts were answered when she saw the folding ladder on the wall. She can see how thick the ladder is when it is closed and how high it is when it is unfolded.

Standing there, she looked at the shelves, wondering if she could get everything in there this time. After thinking about it, she decided to go about her business as usual. She will only use this as a hardcore training mode.

Taking a few deep breaths and getting ready, she walked over to the nearest shelf and put her hands on it. If she touches an item while collecting it, it requires a lower mental power. So, in order to save more mental power, she put her hands on the shelf, and then pulled the whole shelf together with the boxes into her spirit courtyard.

As soon as the shelf full of boxes entered the supplies room in her warehouse, Murong Jiao’s head buzzed. She staggered back a step, but soon steadied herself. This was the first time she felt dizzy after taking things into the spirit courtyard.

She only took in one shelf and was already dizzy. Looking up at the countless shelves in there, she swallowed hard. She worked up her courage and walked to the next shelf. With her hands on the shelf, she took a few deep breaths, prepared herself, and pulled the shelf into her warehouse.

This time, she felt more dizzy than before and fell to the ground. Cold sweat dripped from her forehead to the ground, as she closed her eyes tightly, and opened them only after the feeling of dizziness dissipated. Raising her head, she looked at the shelf next to her with determination in her eyes.

She pushed herself off the ground and began to make a plan. With her current mental strength, taking in three bookshelves is already her limit. After that, she needs to rest for at least two to four hours. With the speed of time passing in the spirit courtyard, she can take a rest in it first, and then continue to take in another three shelves.

She counted the shelves in the warehouse, including the two shelves she had just brought in, the total was one thousand and five hundred shelves. She counted for a while and estimated that it would take at least thirty three hours to take in everything.

After the calculation, she didn’t waste any more time and started her own plan. She just hopes that by repeating such training, she can take a few more shelves in the future and shorten the time. Taking another shelf, she went directly into the spirit courtyard. Instead of sleeping on the bed, she slept on the ground directly.

With this hardcore training, she literally cleaned the warehouse after twenty eight hours. With a difference of five hours, she could tell that her mental strength had indeed increased a lot during this training. After leaving the empty warehouse and supermarket, she came to the ground floor in a good mood.

As soon as the iron door was opened, the sound of a vehicle approaching was heard. Without wasting a second, she quickly opened the iron gate and fled. She hid behind a car and saw five trucks approaching from the distance.

Parked not far from the entrance of the mall, the sound of the truck attracted many zombies. When the truck finally came to a stop, ten men in black military uniforms and fully armed jumped out of the truck. Ten people jumped off each truck, and a total of fifty men in the same black military uniform quickly formed a circle to deal with the zombies.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

They are full of confidence and do not use silencers on their weapons when dealing with zombies. After a while, she saw that hundreds of zombies had easily been dealt with. She slowed her breathing, trying to hide her presence as best she could.

Wanting to see who they are, she doesn’t plan to hide in her spirit courtyard. If she wants to survive in the last days, she must have enough courage to face the unknown. Just like that, she squatted behind a car and observed the group of men.

She watched them for a moment, and saw a silver symbol stitched into their black uniforms. She squinted her eyes, trying to see the symbol. As one of the soldiers stood in front of the truck, the truck’s lights shone on him. The silver symbol on his chest is clearly visible with the help of light.

The symbol looks scary, with a skeletal dragon stepping on a mountain of bones. Although the dragon and the skeleton are silver, the background color is blood red. Just by looking at this symbol, she guessed that these men were not someone she could offend.

Knowing what she wanted to know, she hurried back to the spirit courtyard. As she disappeared from behind the car, a pebble moved with a slight thud as her weight disappeared.

Clack…

“Who is there?! Come out!”

A soldier raised his weapon and rushed towards the car as soon as he heard the sound. Seeing his movements, the others also raised their weapons vigilantly. Following the leader’s signal, the soldiers slowly approached the car.

When he was only one meter away, he suddenly moved extremely fast, and at the same time pointed his weapon at the person hiding there. But when he saw no one was there, he frowned. He lowered his weapon and motioned to the other soldiers.

“There is nobody here.”

The leader glanced at him and said, “When this mission is over, take a good rest.”

“Yes, sir.”

He gladly accepted the free vacation, but took another look at the empty space behind the car before following the others to the mall. Although he was tired, with his skill, he was certain that someone was there. Without lowering his vigilance, he walked into the mall with a weapon in hand.
